iCal Setup

On any Apple device, you can add the PMUG calendar to iCal by clicking on the following link:

https://www.google.com/calendar/ical/membership%40pmug.us/public/basic.ics

For iPhone 4G or 4S, clicking on the link will open a web page with an icon in it that is labeled “Basic.ics.”

In the upper right corner of the window, press the button labeled “Open in Calendar.” The next window will show the calendar events that will be added. Press the Add button on the upper right. When you’re done, your device will now have the PMUG calendar. The PMUG events will be added to your HOME calendar.

If you’re using a laptop, desktop, or iPad you can also simply click on the link above and follow the instructions to add the PMUG calendar to iCal.

If you’re using Lion (10.7) then click on the link and your iCal will open with this window:

The default calendar that it will be saved to is HOME, but you might want to create a new calendar to save it to. Click on the double arrow next to HOME and then click on “New Calendar”:

Please note that this calendar added in this way will NOT synchronize with iCloud and so must be done on all of your devices.

In iCal on the computer or iPad, you can change the color of your calendar by choosing the box next to the name. You can also change the name of your calendar. Name it PMUG for example.

If you have any older versions of PMUG calendars, delete them.
