Special Interest Group Meetings
PMUG’s new SIG (Special Interest Group) class, “Beginning Mac”, are held in Founders Suite B at the Prescott Public Library – the same room where PMUG General Meetings are held. The SIG sessions will go from 10 am till noon, with a break after the first hour.
The Basic Mac SIG has gone well these past months, and we’ve helped several PMUG members to get started enjoying their Mac. Starting in August, we will hold the SIG classes about twice each month, and continue as long as there is an interest. We’ll post the meeting dates in iCal, so look at it and put the meeting dates on your daytime so you don’t miss a meeting.
Currently, there are no dates set for the Beginning Mac SIG. If you have enjoyed this SIG in the past and want it to return, or if you haven’t been to one and would like to attend one, please let us know.
The Digital Mac SIG is intended to get you familiar with the many photo editing applications available for the Mac, and we hope you’ll learn some nifty tricks to organize your photos and make your photos stand out. This SIG will be held at the Northpoint Academy. Click here for a map.
Keep looking here for more instructional SIGs that will be offered in the future.
… Your instructors: Jim, Bobbie, John and anyone else who wants to contribute.
If you have a Mac laptop, bring it to the SIG fully charged plus paper and pencil to take notes, and your library card (if you have one) in case you want to connect to the Internet at the library (connecting to the Internet at Northpoint does not require a password). The instructor will have a Mac to display information onto a screen for those who can’t bring a laptop. There is no charge for these sessions for PMUG members. We plan to continue them as long as there is sufficient interest.
Don’t forget that anyone (member and non-member) can sign up at the Prescott library and the Prescott Valley library for a one-hour one-on-one mentoring session once a week for free. Just call the desk at either library and let them know you want a Mac mentor.
From The Editor:
As your Newsletter Editor, I would like you to drop me an e-mail (link below) telling our group about what trips, stories or any other news that’s fit to print. Or, just let us know what you’re doing these days with your Mac. Include on the subject line the words, “PMUG News.” Thanks!
